How to get to know God better?

1. Shift your old mindset/perspective about God. God is doing a new thing and we gonna prepare with new mindset.

Many of us find it hard to get close to God. If we see him as a loving Father we can approach Him with love. In the book of Phillipians, Paul is in jail and chain 24/7. If we read about Paul. He wants to go to Rome as a preacher but end up as a prisoner. Phil 1:12-13.

Here in the prison. Paul is not the real Prisoner. The guard is the real prisoner. Who chainned to Paul and Paul can preach to them. If their shift is for 6 hours then the guard will listen to Paul for 6 hours sermon. See it from different perspective!

2. To Receive Rhema Word

Some of us know about God but do not know Him. We know story about Peter walk on the water. But if we read carefully. It is because Peter want to close with Jesus. And then there is only one Word from Jesus "Come". But in the middle, He got scared and start sinking.

Same with us. We have so many problems in our life that makes us weak. And then as human we will start complaining and sometime blaming God. Lets change the story a little bit, what if Peter keep talking with Jesus all the way. He will hear Rhema Word from Jesus and will not drown.

Are we now living on the expired Rhema Word? When was the last time you read your bible?

3. We are here to know God and made God known.

We think that God going to do something. But in the bible, God send Moses. Moses hope God will do it. But instead, God send Moses. So we are the ambasador of God.

So how can we become a God Ambassador.

1. Is to demonstrate Gods Power.

Jeremiah 16-21. Godwin shared story when he was in Monash Uni. He was labelled as church goers. And there was accident when a young lady fell on the floor. Right at that time, Godwin pray to Father in heaven in the name of Jesus. And she wake up and open her eyes. When you do the ridiculous in obedience. God will do the miracle for you.

When we demonstrate Gods power. There will be change.

2. Demonstrate Gods Love.

John 13:35. Love people. Christ live in you and through you. Help and love everyone no matter who they are. No matter what is their background and situation.

Today we are living in a culture of to do more. More responsibility. More task more deadline. More commitment. We always on the move.

We dont have time for people. Why? We have higher income but less morals. We spend more but enjoy less. More food but less nutrition. We talk a lot but love a little.

As we enter 2015. Let us remind ourself to love God and make God known. Love people. Be present to the one who are close to you. What is the most important thing in life?
